Lots of additions to the van since our last post.
Where to start..? First off, the diesel heater works amazingly after I cleaned it, and yes it went back together without any leftover parts and minimal cussing. We’ve gone on a few trips, and thus have made some necessary purchases to make life easier. First was a Stay-Put Insect Bug Screen from BlingMyRig.com. No more flys, mosquitoes, or stinging, spicy-sky-raisins in the van. Install wasn’t bad once we were able to watch the instructional video multiple times before committing.
I’d say it looks mighty fine!
Second purchase, and install was a roof basket for all of our “where the heck do we put this stuff?” stuff. We got the 84”long x 39”wide Arksen roof basket from Amazon. Width was our main limiting factor because of the kayaks being located next to the basket.
Third purchase. Solar stuff!! I decided to go with one solar panel with a charge controller for now, (Carrie stepped back from deciding anything on this one). As soon as it arrives, I’ll install it. Then, once we get our battery and inverter upgraded, we’ll be pretty much ready for a weekend stay anywhere. Shore-power or not, we’ll have all the juice!
Stay tuned for updates on the storage cubbies, sink, and countertop build this summer!
